Cognitive Science
Cognitive Science is the interdisciplinary study of the mind, encompassing the study of behavior as well as the underlying brain mechanisms and computations. The field is at the intersection of several other disciplines, including anthropology, cognitive neuroscience, computer science, linguistics, philosophy, and psychology. It is a model interdisciplinary program. Typical research areas of cognitive science include judgment and decision making, language comprehension and production, visual perception and cognition, attention, learning and memory, imagination and mental imagery, consciousness, and goal-directed movement in complex environments. The UArizona Cognitive Science Program was established in 1986. Cognitive Science maintains strong links with the UArizona Center for Consciousness Studies.
